Influence Map - Just for Fun by WhipsmartMcCoy Influence Map - Just for Fun by WhipsmartMcCoy
Got this one from :iconfox-orian: . I guess it's, uh, sort of an art meme, but it's pretty well-designed, so I can forgive myself for participating. XD

The goal is to chart the things that inspire your art, allotting space based on the degree of influence. Anyone surprised that dystopian settings inspire me the most? :B

I rarely draw fanart, so maybe this can serve as a "this is the stuff I like" sort of thing as well. XD

Along with Ghost In The Shell, I am indeed surprised that you like Dystopian worlds and dark atmospheres so much while your art is so colorful.

But coming to think of it, I love dark stuff myself but don't really incorporate it in my art either... =/ Maybe it's an artist thing XD

Ohoho, the bright colors are just to throw you off the trail. :icondignitylaughplz:

Actually, a lot of the stories I come up with are somewhat dark or take place in a dystopian world, but I just never seem to have the time to actually draw the damn comics. XD

I know just what you mean. I have gigantic comic stories in my head that I know I will never have time to draw in my life...

One thing some great artists do is, they take the 'most interesting scene' or 'best action scene' within that story, start drawing it first, and release it as the 'pilot' for the story. First, it's super motivating for the artist because you get to draw what you really want to draw right from the start. Second, people see immediately where you're going with your story. They can therefore become fans much faster than if they had to read the whole story from the beginning. However, once they are fans, you can be sure they will follow everything you do from then on with the same attention as when they read the pilot.

Endling did that with EverAfter. Kazushi Hagiwara has been doing ONLY that for years with Bastard [link] Proof that it works!
