The Good:
- At the end of April, I went to my first comic book convention, portfolio in hand. I met some really fantastic people, including
- I QUIT MY JOB! Well, one of them. The more soul-crushing of the two, which happened to be at a local dvd/cd/video game store. I guess everyone has their deal-breakers, and apparently mine is being treated like a moron for minimum wage. Also all the dirty old men who would come in and say sexual things to the female workers. Yeah, not going to miss that terribly.
The Bad:
- My family recently had to put Hamlet, our 11-year-old Golden Retriever, to sleep. He had laryngeal paralysis, atrial fibrillation, pulmonary hypertension, and a whole host of other serious problems. Intellectually I realize it was probably the best thing for him, but that didn't make it any easier.
- It looks like I'm going to have to move back home for a while. I'm pretty much out of money, and it appears I might have to get a dreaded "real job" to support myself. My mom's house is closer to more major cities, so it makes sense logistically, but I worry I'll end up a cubicle jockey or a cliche basement-dweller drawing comics. :I
So yes, I guess that's about the long and short of it. To wrap up, I'd just like to thank everyone for the watches, faves, comments, and birthday wishes.
